I was given a gift from a close friend, and I suddenly felt as though something within my chest caught fire.

The closest sensation I have to compare it to is the anger and sadness that burned inside me while I was a starving waif on the streets, but this time it felt somehow positive.

[Considering Kagami's slept over on Purple's sofa as often as he has, they found it prudent to just leave any gifts for him on the coffee table in front of it - whether or not he was asleep at the time or out of the house.
There's a trio of boxes waiting for him to either wake up or come back, with a gift tag simply reads "From Purple" in the exact sort of soft cursive you'd expect from the Mage.
One box holds a shirt not too unlike the sort that Purple, themself, wears... but it's been made in a size more befitting Kagami, with a multilayered cravat rather than a simple ribbon collar.
The second box? A large number of crystals, small enough to hold in one's hand, and a little velvet bag that contains a single Mermaid's Tear.
And the third box, smallest of all of them, just holds a golden ring topped with a small, clear gemstone and a note.

I do not know what neurotransmitters are.
As for what I did, I followed through on the enchantment and shared my blood with her, as the magic calls for.
